Back to Chicago to see Oncologist

Going back to UCMC to see what they can do to kick this in the butt!

  • What more can I say... but, the man upstairs has sent us yet another miracle - an Angel by the name of DR Olopade! (8)
  • This is the heavenly gift we have all been waiting for - DR Olopade is a WORLD-RENOWN LEADER in Breast Cancer and has numerous awards for devoting her life's work to this cause. (Featured in October Ebony magazine and numerous scientific journals)
  • 30 years of research on Breast Cancer and Professor of Medicine and Human Genetics
    Director at University of Chicago Medical Center
  • Gina (and the rest of us too) feel that this has been a truly Blessed day as DR Olopade has given us a feeling we haven't felt in over three to four weeks - HOPE!
  • Her approach is very aggressive and compassionate and she is going to check not only the new biopsy from Gina's femur surgery, but, also, the biopsy from the breast cancer from 2002.
  • We have a follow-up appointment in two weeks (Oct 8th) and should have a plan on what specific type of cancer we are dealing with and how to treat it!

Keep your PRAYERS coming and THANKS to all who have been with us along the way!!

Gina & Bob,

Know that I am praying for you both everyday and I am especially lifting you up this morning. May you feel God's love and the love of all who are praying for you. May you continue to be strong:

Isaiah 40:28-31:

"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Love you-
Lori S.

I Will Paint You A Rainbow

I'll paint you a rainbow as a gift from me,

Then hang it from heaven for the whole world to see.

On a canvas of love I'll cover your fears,

With a soft brush I'll dry all your tears.

I'll paint you a rainbow with feelings so deep,

My stroke will be gentle, my touch you may keep.

On a palette of words I will tenderly blend,

Colorful thoughts with bright verses to send.

I'll paint you a rainbow in reds, blues and gold,

Stretched like loving arms ready to enfold.

And deep in the center of the most vibrant hue,

I'll etch from memory the essence of you.

I'll paint you a rainbow, a bridge to my heart,

So loneliness and pain can begin to depart.

Just look up at the sky when life hits a bend,

I painted a rainbow for YOU my friend.

Love,

Dawn and Erik

I Refuse To Be Discouraged

I refuse to be discouraged,
To be sad, or to cry;
I refuse to be downhearted,
and here's the reason why...

I have a God who's mighty,
Who's sovereign and supreme;
I have a God who loves me,
and I am on His team.

He is all wise and powerful,
Jesus is His name;
Though everything is changeable,
My God remains the same.

My God knows all that's happening;
Beginning to the end,
His presence is my comfort,
He is my dearest friend.

When sickness comes to weaken me,
To bring my head down low,
I call upon my mighty God;
Into His arms I go.

When circumstances threaten
to rob me from my peace;
He draws me close unto His breast,
Where all my strivings cease.

And when my heart melts within me,
and weakness takes control;
He gathers me into His arms,
He soothes my heart and soul.

The great "I AM" is with me,
My life is in His hand,
The "Son of the Lord" is my hope,
It's in His strength I stand.

I refuse to be defeated,
My eyes are on my God;
He has promised to be with me,
as through this life I trod.

I'm looking past all my circumstances,
To Heaven's throne above;
My prayers have reached
the heart of God,
I'm resting in His love.

I give God thanks in everything,
My eyes are on His face;
The battle's His, the victory is mine;
He'll help me win the race.

More love,

Dawn and Erik

Sounds like you have a great dr!! Deanne asked if I would post on here about a website I had told her about. It has been a huge help to me. www.youngsurvival.org The site says under 40--but it is really pre-menopausal.

They have a bulletin board on there where you can find a lot of great women. Ask anything and you will get an answer. They also have a mets board.

It has really helped me. I don't know how I would have gotten through most of this without the women on there. I have a wonderful family==but they don't "get" it. I hope to see you on there. My screenname is twinmom97.

Hugs,
Sherri
